Who I am
Hi, I’m Helly — an independent midwife based in Norfolk, supporting families across Norfolk and Suffolk.
I became a midwife because I believe in advocating for birthing people and supporting them to make informed, evidence-based decisions about their care.
Pregnancy, birth and early parenthood are powerful, life-changing experiences, and everyone deserves to feel listened to, respected and supported throughout their journey.
My approach to midwifery is inclusive, trauma-informed and person-centred.
I strive to create calm, supportive spaces where you feel safe to ask questions, explore your choices and move at your own pace.
As an independent midwife, I offer continuity of care and time, building trusting relationships that sit at the heart of everything I do.

Where I work & the care I offer
I provide independent midwifery care across Norfolk and Suffolk, including Norwich, North Norfolk, coastal communities, Thetford, Great Yarmouth and Ipswich.
As a private midwife, I offer flexible, personalised care including:

- Birth preparation
- Informed choice discussions
Postnatal care
- Emotional support
- Newborn care
- Feeding support
Individual or one-off appointments
- For additional reassurance
- Space to talk
- Support alongside NHS care
Whether you’re seeking continuity throughout your pregnancy or a single appointment, my role is to walk alongside you with compassion and care that honours your choices.
Why Salt & Bloom Midwifery
The name Salt & Bloom Midwifery reflects the rhythm and depth of the journeys I am honoured to support.
Salt speaks to the earth and the sea - steady, vital and ever-changing, like the tides of creation.
Bloom speaks to growth, becoming, and the gentle unfolding of new life in all its forms.
Together, they tell a story of strength and softness, grounding and transformation. It is a reflection of birth, and of the people I care for.
Outside of my work, I find joy in simple, grounding moments: baking something sweet, walking my three dogs, or escaping into nature in my tiny caravan.
These quieter rhythms shape the care I offer - calm, steady, and deeply respectful of your own pace and power.
